Five moves, in order. Each one depends on the one before it, which is why the method can be taught rather than only demonstrated.
Birth chart
Starting point
Cast from date, time, and place of birth. The time matters more than anything else supplied, because it sets the rising sign and therefore which house does which job.
Planetary connections
Relationships between planets
Yuti bonds, trine membership, half aspects, and weak relations are mapped. This produces the chains: sequences of planets that act together rather than separately.
Life pattern
Understand the real pattern
The chains are read against the karakas, so a chain stops being abstract and starts describing something specific: this marriage, that profession, this recurring obstacle.
Timing
Identify active periods
Yatra, the movement of planets through the chart, shows when a chain is activated. Slow planets set the window; faster ones supply the trigger inside it.

Everything else follows from this. A chain is only as meaningful as the connections holding it together, so the first job in any reading is to grade them.

Planets within one trine act as though they were sitting in the same house. Distance across the chart does not weaken the connection: the trine is the connection.

Two houses ahead, two behind
A planet reaches the houses two ahead and two behind it at half strength. A planet in house one therefore touches houses three and eleven.

One house either side
The neighbouring houses receive a quarter of the influence. A planet in house one touches houses two and twelve weakly, enough to shade a result but not to produce one.

Planets in the same trine act as though they were sitting in the same house, at full strength, however far apart they appear. This is the single idea that most distinguishes BNN from the astrology most people have met.

What each planet stands for.
The karakas are the vocabulary. A chain is only abstract until these are applied to it, at which point it starts describing a specific person, a specific job, a specific marriage.

The method applied
Where a reading actually starts.
Naming the parts is not the same as showing them work. These are the opening moves for the questions people bring most often, published so you can see there is a procedure behind the answer.
Profession
Read Saturn first: the house it sits in, the 7th from it, and the 10th from it. If those are empty, take Jupiter's 7th and 10th. If still empty, read the trines, then Yatra.
Saturn is the karaka of work, so the profession question starts there rather than at the 10th house.
Education
Read the 4th from Mercury. If it is empty, follow Mercury's trine or its Yatra.
Mercury governs learning and articulation, so the education question is asked from Mercury rather than from the chart's 4th house.
Finance
Read the 2nd house, the Artha trine of 2, 6 and 10, and the condition of Venus and Jupiter.
Accumulation and flow are read separately: the 2nd holds, the trine earns.
Marriage, male chart
Venus is the first wife, Mercury the second, the Moon the third. Combinations such as Rahu with Venus and Moon, or Venus with Mercury and Ketu, indicate a love or inter-community marriage.
Read as indications of the kind of marriage, not as a verdict on whether one should happen.
Marriage, female chart
Mars is the primary husband and Jupiter the second.
The same caution applies: the chart describes patterns, and people make decisions.
Health
Classify planets as Pitta (Sun, Mars, Rahu), Vata (Saturn, Mercury, Rahu) or Kapha (Moon, Jupiter, Venus, Ketu), then map the houses to the body: 1 head, 4 chest, 5 stomach, 8 chronic, 10 knees, 12 feet.
Constitutional indication only. This is never a diagnosis and never a reason to delay seeing a doctor.
These are starting points, not whole readings. Each one opens a chain that then has to be followed, weighted, and checked against events that have already happened before anything is said about events that have not.

About the method.
- What is Bhrigu Nandi Nadi astrology?
- BNN is a predictive branch of Vedic astrology within the Nadi family. It reads life events through chains of planetary relationships, conjunctions, trines, aspects and movement, rather than by interpreting placements in isolation. It is unusually strong on timing, which is why it is the method used in every consultation here.
- How is BNN different from traditional Vedic astrology?
- Parashara astrology is broad and architectural, working with signs, houses, dashas, yogas and divisional charts. BNN follows sequences instead: which planets are connected, how strongly, and when that connection is activated. Many practitioners use Parashara to set the context and BNN to time the events inside it.
- What are the four trines in BNN?
- Dharma is houses 1, 5 and 9; Artha is 2, 6 and 10; Kama is 3, 7 and 11; Moksha is 4, 8 and 12. Planets within the same trine act as though they were in the same house, at full strength, regardless of how far apart they sit in the chart.
- What does Yuti mean?
- Yuti is conjunction: two or more planets occupying the same house. They influence each other completely, so the group has to be read as one statement rather than as separate planets that happen to be neighbours.
- What is Yatra in BNN?
- Yatra is movement. When a planet travels through empty houses to reach a planet ahead of it, a connection forms. It is the mechanism that turns a standing chain into a dated event, and it is where BNN timing comes from.
- Do retrograde planets change the reading?
- Yes, and in a specific way. A retrograde planet influences its own house, the house before it, and the house after it, which widens what it touches. It is treated as a karmic signature rather than as a malfunction.
- Can BNN predict an exact date?
- It can name a period, and inside a near-term period it can narrow that considerably. It cannot name a day, because a chain describes what is possible and the decisions taken inside the window shape what actually happens. Anyone promising an exact date is claiming more than the method contains.
- Can I learn BNN astrology?
