What this reading can and cannot settle
You are asking a question with a real deadline attached, so here is the boundary before the method.
Two charts read together can show you three things: where the partnership has natural strength, where the friction is going to sit and what kind of friction it is, and whether your timings move together or pull in different directions.
They cannot tell you whether to marry someone. Not because it would be impolite, but because the information is not in the charts. Compatibility describes terrain. It does not describe the two people walking across it, and the walking is most of what determines how a marriage goes.
If that sounds like a limitation, consider the alternative. A reader willing to answer yes or no to this question is willing to take a decision about your life on the basis of something that does not contain it.
Why the score out of 36 is not the answer
Most people arrive at this question having already done guna matching, or ashtakoot, which produces a score out of 36.
That system compares a fairly narrow set of factors, most of them derived from where each person's Moon sits in a nakshatra, one of the twenty-seven lunar divisions of the zodiac. It is quick, it is traditional, and it is the standard because it can be done in seconds by someone who has never met either person.
What it does not look at is how the two hero planets interact, where in daily life the friction will actually appear, or whether the two people's chart activations run together or in opposite directions. Those are the things that determine whether a marriage feels workable from inside it.
This is why a low score is not a reason to end an engagement and a high score is not a reason to proceed with one. Both are being asked to carry far more weight than the technique supports.
What Bhrigu Nandi Nadi looks at instead
A BNN compatibility reading starts where a BNN marriage reading starts: with the hero planet in each chart, meaning the planet that carries the relationship story. Venus in a male chart, Mars in a female chart.
Each hero planet is read for its house, and then for its yuti, which means any planet sitting in the same house alongside it. That yuti is what modifies the story, and it tells you what each person actually brings into a relationship.
Then the two are read against each other. The question is not whether the charts "match" on a scale. It is what happens when this particular pattern meets that particular pattern.
A Venus bonded with Saturn brings caution, duty and slowness. A Mars bonded with Rahu brings intensity, urgency and a taste for the unconventional. Neither is a problem in itself. Put them together and you can describe, quite specifically, the argument this couple will have repeatedly for the next thirty years.
That is more useful than a score, because it is recognisable. Most couples read it and say yes, that is exactly it.
Where the friction will sit
Friction is not a defect. Every partnership has it, and a reading that finds none has not looked properly.
What is worth knowing in advance is which area it lands in, because BNN locates it by trine circuit, a group of three houses that feed each other:
- 3, 7, 11 is meeting, attraction and social life. Friction here shows up as differences over friends, social pace, and how much of the relationship is lived in public.
- 1, 5, 9 is romance, belief and fortune. Friction here is about values and outlook, and it tends to be the quiet kind that surfaces years in.
- 2, 6, 10 is family, money, work and daily load. This is where most marriages actually rub, and it is rarely about affection.
- 4, 8, 12 is emotional security and sudden change. Friction here is the most destabilising, and it is the one worth being honest with a couple about.
Naming the circuit changes what a couple does with the information. A pair told they will argue about money and workload can build a way of handling money and workload. A pair told they are simply "not compatible" cannot do anything at all with that.
Whether your timing moves together
This is the part almost nothing else looks at, and in practice it matters enormously.
Each chart has its own activation pattern, driven by the slow planets, Jupiter, Saturn, and the lunar nodes Rahu and Ketu, moving through it. When a slow planet contacts an important part of a chart, that person is in a demanding period.
Two people can be well matched and still have a hard decade because their difficult periods do not overlap. One is expanding while the other is contracting. One is in a Saturn phase that asks for retreat and endurance while the other is in a Jupiter phase that wants to move, spend and take on more.
Reading both charts against the same calendar shows you where those periods align and where they collide. It is the single most practical output of a compatibility reading, because it tells a couple which years will ask more of them. The three clocks of timing explains the cycles themselves.
What a chart must never be used for
There is a version of this reading that does harm, and it is worth naming plainly.
A chart cannot tell you that someone will be unfaithful, dishonest, or cruel. It shows patterns that make a relationship harder to hold steady. It does not show a choice that a real person has not yet made, and treating a placement as evidence about someone's future conduct converts a reading into an accusation against a person who is not in the room.
The same applies to health. Nothing in a compatibility reading licenses a claim about anyone's body or lifespan, and reading health in a chart, and its limits sets out why that boundary does not move.
If a reading has left you suspicious of your partner rather than better informed about your partnership, it was done badly.
What to bring, if you do this properly
Both sets of birth details, as accurate as you can get them, ideally from birth certificates rather than memory. Where a time is genuinely unknown, say so instead of guessing. Why birth time accuracy matters explains what a guess costs, and it costs more than the gap does.
Bring the specific worry as well. "Should I marry this person" is nearly always standing in front of a more precise question: whether the family friction will ease, whether the distance is workable, whether the money pressure is temporary. The precise question gets a far better answer.
And bring the expectation that you will leave with a description rather than a decision. A marriage and compatibility reading is worth having because it tells you what you are choosing, in enough detail to be useful. The choosing stays with you, which is the only place it was ever going to sit.
